Haiti’s earthquake survivors, many still in tents, are bracing for a significant storm that made landfall Friday.
Southwest Haiti is likely to be most significantly affected but heavy rains and high winds are expected to over a much wider area.
Caritas is putting preparation plans in place and is considering airlifting food, medicines, acquatabs, the hygiene and kitchen kits if necessary.
In preparation for the hurricane, CRS (a Caritas member) stockpiled emergency supplies and readied staff.
Emergency food supplies are in place for 25,000 families, and other items such as hygiene kits, blankets, tarps and soap are ready to be distributed.
